Privacy policy

Sage Media & Design (“Sage,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a design, websites, and AI services business based in Otsego, Minnesota, serving small businesses across the Minneapolis metro and the rest of the United States. Our principal contact for privacy matters is Ben Frank, ben@sagemediadesign.com.

Information you give us

• Contact form: name, business name, email, the service you're interested in, and any message you provide.
• Readiness quiz: email, name, business name, your answers to the quiz, and the recommendation we generate for you.
• Booking calendar: when you book a consultation through our calendar widget (powered by GoHighLevel), the booking provider collects the information you submit on the booking form (such as name, email, and phone) and forwards it to us.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data: pages visited, referring URL, approximate location (derived from IP address), browser type, and device. We use this to understand how the site is used and to fix problems.
• Cookies and similar technologies: we use a minimal set of cookies that are necessary for the site to function. We do not use advertising cookies, behavioral tracking pixels, or third-party analytics that profile you across the web. The booking calendar (GoHighLevel) may set its own cookies inside its embedded widget for session purposes.

We use the information we collect to:

• Respond to your inquiries and deliver the services you ask for
• Send service updates, scheduling confirmations, and follow-up communications
• Improve the site and our services
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not use your information for behavioral advertising.

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run our business. They process your information on our behalf, only as needed to provide their services, and are not allowed to use it for their own marketing.

• GoHighLevel — CRM, email automation, and booking calendar
• Supabase — database storage for quiz responses
• Vercel — site hosting and infrastructure
• Adobe Typekit and Google Fonts — web fonts. These services may log the IP address of your device when fonts are requested, but do not receive other personal information from us.

We may also disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, property, or safety.

We keep personal information for as long as we need it to provide the services you asked for, maintain reasonable business records, and comply with legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see “Your rights” below) and we will do so unless we're legally required to keep it.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct information that's inaccurate or out of date
• Delete your information
• Opt out of marketing communications (every email we send includes an unsubscribe link)
• Object to or ask us to limit how we process your information
• Receive a copy of your information in a portable format

California residents: under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, the right to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of your information (we do neither), and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

The site is intended for adults running businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email us and we will delete it.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), a Content Security Policy, honeypot anti-spam protection on form submissions, and limited access to systems that store personal data. No system is 100% secure, but we work to follow current industry-standard practices.

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect changes in how we operate or to comply with legal requirements. When we do, we'll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be communicated when reasonable (for example, by email if you've given us your address).
